So, here are some tips to play safe and healthy holi during pregnancy

Use Herbal Colors

The colors of Holi are used to scare away evil spirits and so the holi is celebrated with joy and enthusiasm. But, it is also important to be careful while celebrating Holi. The colors are very harmful to the eyes, so avoid using the colored powder and instead try to use herbal colors like turmeric and sandalwood. These colors will not harm your eyes at all.

Don’t Play with Water

Playing with water during pregnancy can increase your chances of slipping on the floor and falling down during this time can cause severe consequences. Food and Drinks

During pregnancy, there are many changes in your body and mind. One of the most common changes is that you start to crave different foods. These cravings are normal, but you should be careful to ensure that you eat the right things during pregnancy and in the right quantities.

  • Do not consume too much, you might get indigestion, heartburn or acidity. Instead, you can eat less quantity frequently.
  • Avoid too much fatty, fried or sweet foods if you have gestational diabetes.
  • Stay away from any alcoholic drinks such as bhaang. Go for other options.
  • Also, keep in mind how much caffeine you are drinking or eating. Remember that caffeine is not only in cold drinks, tea, and coffee but also in chocolate.
  • Keep yourself hydrated.

Some Precautions for expecting mothers:

  • Wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants.
  • Use sunscreen daily.
  • Avoid standing or sitting in direct sunlight.
  • Eat a healthy diet.
  • Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol.
  • Apply coconut oil from head to toe, so that colors are not absorbed in the body
  • Properly oil your hair
  • Use Petroleum Jelly thick layer on lips, ear, neck
  • Do not consume colors
  • Avoid playing with water
